About glass pool fencing
A glass pool fence keeps children safe without hiding the pool or the garden. Frameless panels on stainless spigots give a clear, open look that blends into the landscape.
Florida pool barriers must be at least 4 ft high, with gates that open outward from the pool and are self-closing and self-latching. We lay out the fence, gate and latch to your city or county permit requirements.

A clear view of the pool, and a barrier that protects children.
Performance standards
A pool fence is a safety barrier first. These are the Florida requirements we lay out and document for your permit and inspection.
Florida Statute 515.29
The residential pool barrier must be at least 4 ft high on the outside, without gaps, openings or footholds a young child could use to get through, over or under.
Gates
Gates open outward, away from the pool, and are self-closing and self-latching. The latch release sits on the pool side, out of a child's reach.
Safety glazing
Glass near the water's edge is safety glazing; pool fence panels are fully tempered, typically 1/2 in. (12 mm).
Local permit
Your city or county reviews the fence layout, gate hardware and the house walls or doors that form part of the barrier.
Coastal hardware
316 marine-grade stainless spigots and hinges resist chlorine, salt air and humidity.
Code references are summarized for orientation. Final requirements are confirmed by the engineer of record and the building department for each project.
Design considerations
What our engineering team reviews with the design team before the drawings are final.
- Barrier layoutThe fence, house walls and doors together form the barrier; we lay out the full enclosure for the permit.
- Deck structureSpigot fixings depend on the slab or pavers below; we check the deck before drilling.
- Gaps and ground clearanceGaps between panels and to the ground are kept within the limits that prevent a child from passing.
- MaintenanceStainless hardware and coated glass keep the fence looking new with simple cleaning.
